The Keys to Your Home
Final Inspection
Upon satisfactory completion of your final walk through and our step-by-step inspection checklist, the city is scheduled for final inspection. After final review of engineering reports and approval of the finished house, the city inspector then issues a City of Revelstoke occupancy permit.
Occupancy Permit
Once the occupancy permit is issued, Straight Up completes your home warranty registration by requesting a Completion Certificate from Pacific. The Customer then brings the occupancy permit to their bank to convert the construction mortgage into a residential mortgage.
With accounts settled and occupancy permit in hand, the customer may then legally occupy the residence.
Project Completion Binder
Straight Up then provides the customer with a project binder containing:
- Full expense report
- Engineering certificates
- City building permit
- City occupancy certificate
- W.E.T.T. Certification (solid fuel burning systems)
- Copies of original architectural and structural drawings (tabloid size)
- Subtrades and supplier list used on the project
- Completion Certificate from Pacific Home Warranty
- Survey certificate
- Appliance and mechanical user manuals (HVAC components, kitchen appliances, garage door, etc.)
1st Year Anniversary Inspection
Your satisfaction with the workmanship and materials used in the construction of your home is paramount. This being said, with big swings in temperature and humidity, understand that "settling" is common during the first year and may result, for instance, in a few minor cracks or nail pops.
Besides being available for any quick fixes or warranty matters, on the first year anniversary of your occupancy, Straight Up will schedule a walk-through inspection to ensure the house has settled properly and address any construction-related issues.
