Mandatory Inspections

Once a building permit is issued, 11 separate site inspections in total are mandated during construction by the Revelstoke municipal city building inspector who works in tandem with the various civil, mechanical, and geotechnical engineers involved in your project.

Engineer Selection

The engineering professionals involved in your project must be in place prior to the building permit application. To expedite scheduling and save money, Straight Up Construction recommends veteran engineers we have worked with in the past. Our established relationship ensures that we understand exactly what they're looking for and they are well versed in the requirements of the local building official.

  • Structural Engineer: Responsible for the structural components of the building, foundation, walls, beams, point loads, and roof system.
  • Civil Engineer: Responsible for infrastructure of the building site, such as water, sewer, and site services design.
  • Mechanical Engineer: Responsible for the heating, cooling, and ventilation system design.
  • Geotechnical Engineer: Responsible for soil conditions, underground water mitigation, and site conditions.
