With only six months until Revelstoke's grand opening for the 2007/2008 season, Straight Up was awarded the construction services subcontract for the renovation and 7000 sq. ft. expansion of the existing 3000 sq. ft. Revelstoke Mountain Resort day lodge. Cornerstone Building Solutions, the Ontario-based general contractor responsible for the original winning bid, needed a local company with the resources and know how to get things done right under severe time constraints so Straight Up was given the job.
PROJECT SYNOPSIS
Completed in just 6 months, Straight Up supervised all aspects of the 3000 sq. ft. renovation and 7000 sq. ft. expansion of the existing day lodge at Revelstoke Mountain Resort in 2007.
Straight Up employed and worked alongside 14 tradesmen, labourers, and sub trades to manage and overcome the many challenges presented throughout the course of construction. Under the gun and lacking an onsite engineer, Straight Up identified and implemented necessary site changes pertaining to roof loads, building tie-ins to the existing building, and structural reinforcing—including blueprints submitted to the offsite engineering firm for review and approval.
